Wow — what a morning at the Hub Café!

We were absolutely delighted to welcome nearly 40 people through the doors today. It seems word has travelled far and wide about Diana’s legendary crispy cakes — and rightly so!

A huge well done to everyone who joined in with the Easter Egg Hunt, brilliantly organised by our young volunteer helpers ( Emily & Alfie ). Their enthusiasm brought so much joy to the morning.

What many may not know is that before every Hub, Rev Mary leads us in a quiet prayer, speaking love, hope and peace over the space and over each person who will walk through the door. It’s a simple moment, but it shapes the whole atmosphere — and today was a beautiful reminder of that.

Thank you to everyone who came along, chatted, laughed, helped, baked, brewed, or simply shared the morning with us.
Community really does begin with a cup of tea and a warm welcome.

What a fantastic morning in the Hub Café!

Soup, laughter, and community were served up today — all mixed with a dash of friendship, connection, and a generous sprinkle of salt and pepper for taste! Thank you to all of those who made the delicious homemade soup and to Mary for her home made bread rolls - it definitely takes a team - and what a fantastic team we have.

Thank you to everyone who came along, enjoyed the cake, and joined us for our soup lunch. It was a joy to see familiar faces, to welcome new ones, and to share stories around the table. Moments like these remind us how good it is to be together.

Turbo Sleigh Thanks from the Hub Café!

Well well well… Chaslong seems to have swapped their wheels this Christmas for a turbo Santa sleigh — and we were delighted to hitch a ride on that sparkling flying delight!

A huge thank you to Mark and everyone at Chaslong Aggregates, Brompton on Swale, for helping make our final Hub Café of the year such a joy. With your fantastic donation and support, we prepared 50 extra special Christmas Hampers with our team of helpers, for our Hub Café regulars and those we care for in the wider community.

Your generosity has also opened the door for us to offer a few extra warm, home‑cooked delights over the winter months… so watch this space!

Together, we’ve shared laughter, kindness, and festive cheer — proof that when community spirit takes flight, even Santa’s sleigh gets an upgrade.

Thank you to those who came to the Hub Cafe today - it was wonderful to have the Yorkshire Air Ambulance join us all this morning.

Rev Simon was delighted to hand over a cheque to the Yorkshire air ambulance for £1,875 after it was agreed by ESBB PCC that some of the money from the sale of Skeeby Church goes to this fantastic charity. The PCC decided to tithe some of the money on the principal that God has blessed us and calls us to bless others. Hopefully we have added to that amount today with support from us all here in the Hub. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Yorkshire Air Ambulance

Wow—what a morning at The Hub Café! A huge thank you to everyone who popped in, shared a cuppa, and filled the space with laughter and community spirit. It was a joy to see so many friendly faces!

We’re especially grateful to those who bought raffle tickets—every contribution helped us raise a fantastic £227.40 for Breast Cancer Now. Your generosity will make a real difference to those facing this battle, and we couldn’t be more thankful.

Together, we’ve brewed up more than just coffee—we’ve stirred hope.

" The Hub cafe is well run. When entering the building one of the team immediatly welcomes you, establises what drink and cake you would like and shows you to your seat. The atmosphere is relaxed and the food is well set out  "

" I see the cafe as a place for people to come and meet and talk to others. It is especially helpful for those who live on their own, like me. As i live alone i always enjoy my visits to the Hub Cafe. It is nice to socialise with others and meet new people. It is good for my wellbeing. Thank you for providing this service in the community "

Friendly & Welcoming

I really enjoy coming to the Hub Cafe, I have met some fantastic people, made new friendships and have been able to be apart of a community group which includes tea and cake!

Helps me to stay social!

The Hub helps me to keep being social, I am retired and my husband passed away a few years ago, so I am now on my own. Coming to the Hub means I see and talk to people which helps with not feeling isolated and alone at times. As I live on a pension the donation helps to make sure I can still visit and be a part of the Cafe.

Always somthing to do and be apart of.

Thank you to all of the team for helping to keep the Hub Cafe alive and kicking! You never know what is around the corner - from Bake offs, game mornings to hampers and much more! The difference the Hub makes to my life is incredible and I attend everytime it is on. Thank you so much to everyone invovled
